Progress Report of Children Learning Community on December 2013

On December 2013, the learning activities could run well. The children, the team and I are so grateful for your prayer and support.

The regular learning activities every Friday and Saturday were on holiday after the children learning evaluation on the 3rd quarterly curriculum 2013. We filled the workshops for Cakung teenagers, such as the sex education workshop on Saturday, December 7th, 2013 and the leadership and character building training on Saturday, December 14th, 2013.

In the early December 2013, we move to the new learning house. The new location is far enough for the children. We will pick up the children for few months and ask the parents for accompany them so the parents and their children can go by themselves.

On Tuesday morning, December 17th, 2013, we have being visited by some students and the teachers of St. Yakobus elementary school, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. They came accompanied by Mr. Yakobus and Ms. Sepha. They visited the children in the learning house for the social program on Christmas 2013. They shared groceries for the residents in Cakung and Muara Baru.

First, we introduced each other. The children sang and dance to welcome the teachers and the students. After that the students learned the basic step of making purse and Bible cover from sachettes of coffee, tea, & chocolate.

Before the students and the teacher went, we were taking some pictures. After that, we distributed the groceries for every family. Some children were ready preparing the bag. On the midday, the parents and the residents of Cakung came straight to the learning house. We prepared for every family according to the number of the people in each family.

Thank you very much for the friends of St. Yakobus elementary school’s visited. Thank you for giving time to share what the families need.

On Wednesday morning, December 25th, 2013, some children and parents visited the facilitator’s house for Christmas greeting while on Friday, December 27th, 2013, some facilitators went to some friends and benefactors’ house for Christmas visiting. We usually hold the visitation every holiday celebration, such as Christmas and Ied Mobarak.

Alternative Learning Activities

On Saturday morning, December 7th, 2013, we held the sex education program for the teenagers in the learning house of Children Learning Community from morning till become afternoon with 13 participant and the facilitators. The theme is ‘To be the responsible teenager’. We invited 25 teenagers, but some couldn’t come because of the school activity. Some doctors and psychologists from Perdhaki brought the program.

We began the program by introduce ourselves and the introduction of human reproduction. The facilitators gave the separate program for girls and boys and the next session for all teenagers. After lunch, there were dialogues between the teenagers and the facilitators about the healthy relations between man and woman and the effects. The teenagers learned about the dangerous of drugs using and free sex, also HIV AIDS disease.

Before the end of the program, every teenagers have to make some plan or resolution on 2014 as the good and responsible teenagers. Every teenagers wrote in the piece of paper, after that, we stick them in a big cardboard. Some of the teenagers wrote about the healthy relations and don’t want to be the picky person and will ask the friends to do the same things. After that, we were taking pictures together.

We thank so much to the facilitators of sex education program from Perdhaki and Mrs. Elisabeth. We are glad to have knowledge and hope it inspire the teenagers to be a good, friendly and responsible teenagers.

On Saturday, December 14th, 2013, we held the leadership training by Mrs. Alvieni. The participants on training were the children in team of all programs. The early activity was the game that make them know their friends better by digging the positive side of the friends and themselves. After that, Mrs. Alvieni introduced the famous leaders who inspire the world in their spirit to prosper the people and their characters who have tolerance, make peace and respect the human rights. She created the game which could combine the children’s characters and the inspiring leaders. Children learn to know what characters should be build by the children.

Thank you very much to Mrs. Alvieni for opening the children’s insight and the good knowledge for them. We hope the collaboration will continue well and become the worth provide for the children future.

On December 2013, we held the evaluation of programs and curriculum and also preparation for the program and curriculum of 2014 every Saturday and Sunday. We also held the life-skill activity and produce things on Christmas parcel every Wednesday and Saturday.

We are gladly receiving your plastic garbages for supporting the life-skill activity of the teenagers and the mothers of Children Learning Community.

We had some sachettes from our friends, Ms. Sepha and Ms. Ari Wiyadi. Thank you very much for your support. We hope the collaboration will sustainable to move the action of reduce, reuse, and recycled the plastic garbages.

We thank all the collaborative works of the facilitators, the volunteers, the children, and the residents of Cakung, especially to Ms. Qori’ah, Ms. Uju, Mrs. Mar’ah, Indri, Yana, and the children coordinator programs.

Children Scholarship

On this month, the scholarship expenditure in providing the elementary, junior high and university students’ learning materials were including copy, student books, and stationeries, also the accommodation.

On Mid December 2013 before the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, the elementary and junior high school students had school report while the holiday of the university student began a day before Christmas until two weeks later. A week after holiday, there will a week holiday before the semester examination.

We are so grateful to our friends who would like to provide the need of this program regularly. We hope the collaboration will continue well and become the worth provide for the children’s future.

a. Annual reflection for the facilitators and the team of all programs on Saturday, January 4th, 2014 by Mrs. Alvieni.
b. The meeting of the income generate program to give interest for every share holder on Saturday, January 4th, 2014.
c. Begin the administrative activity of the program 2014 on Wednesday, January 8th, 2014.
d. Begin the learning activities in Cakung children community on Friday, January 10th, 2014 and in Muara Baru children community on Sunday, January 12th, 2014.
e. Manage the books and things in the new learning house.

Laporan Perkembangan Komunitas Anak Belajar pada Desember 2013

Salam jumpa teman-teman yang baik,

Selamat Natal dan Tahun Baru 2014.
Semoga damai, sukacita, dan harapan kita untuk dunia yang lebih baik semakin nyata dalam kehidupan kita demi kemuliaan Sang Maha Pencipta.

Pada bulan Desember 2013 ini, kegiatan Komunitas Anak Belajar dapat berjalan dengan baik. Kami bersyukur dan terimakasih atas bantuan dan doa teman-teman.

Kegiatan belajar rutin setiap Jumat dan Sabtu libur seiring dengan berakhirnya kegiatan kurikulum caturwulan III tahun 2013. Selama bulan ini, kegiatan diisi dengan pelatihan bagi remaja Cakung, yaitu kegiatan sex education pada Sabtu, 7 Desember 2013 dan kegiatan kepemimpinan dan pembangunan karakter diri pada Sabtu, 14 Desember 2013.

Pada awal Desember 2013, kami menempati rumah belajar di lokasi yang baru. Lokasi yang cukup jauh bagi anak-anak peserta kegiatan belajar akan coba kami siasati dengan antar jemput disertai orang tua anak agar bulan-bulan berikutnya bisa langsung diantar oleh orang tua mereka sendiri.

Pada Selasa, 17 Desember 2013, kami kedatangan tamu, beberapa perwakilan murid SD St. Yakobus, Kelapa Gading didampingi guru serta Pak Yakobus dan Ms. Sepha. Para murid dan guru berkunjung dalam rangka aksi Natal 2013 dengan pelayanan kasih dan pemberian sembako bagi warga Cakung.

Kunjungan dilaksanakan pada pagi hari. Anak-anak berkenalan dengan para murid dan guru. Mereka menyanyi dan menari menyambut para guru dan murid, sedangkan para murid SD St. Yakobus belajar tahap awal pembuatan dompet dan cover buku dari bungkus kopi, susu, dan coklat bubuk.

Setelah itu, para murid berfoto bersama sebagai kenang-kenangan. Usai kunjungan, kami bagikan sembako untuk tiap-tiap keluarga. Beberapa anak sudah menyiapkan wadah. Siang hari, orang tua dan beberapa warga datang langsung ke rumah belajar untuk mengambil sembako. Kami siapkan sesuai dengan jumlah anggota keluarga untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masing-masing keluarga.

Terimakasih banyak atas kehadiran teman-teman SD St. Yakobus, Kelapa Gading yang telah meluangkan waktu untuk berbagi. Kami sangat bersyukur dan bersukacita atas pemberian yang amat sangat dibutuhkan bagi keluarga-keluarga di Cakung dan Muara Baru.

Pada hari Rabu, 25 Desember 2013 pada saat Natal, perwakilan anak-anak warga Cakung berkunjung ke rumah fasilitator. Pada Jumat, 27 Desember 2013, beberapa fasilitator berkunjung ke rumah beberapa sahabat dan donator Komunitas Anak Belajar. Kunjungan ini biasa kami lakukan pada hari raya, baik ke rumah warga maupun ke tempat fasilitator.

Kegiatan Belajar Alternatif

Pada Sabtu, 7 Desember 2013, kami mengadakan kegiatan pendidikan seks bagi para remaja Cakung. Kegiatan yang bertema Menjadi Remaja yang Bertanggungjawab dilaksanakan di rumah belajar Komunitas Anak Belajar pada pagi hingga menjelang sore hari oleh sekitar 13 remaja didampingi seluruh fasilitator. Dari sekitar 25 remaja yang kami undang, Beberapa remaja laki-laki dan perempuan tidak bisa hadir karena bersamaan waktunya dengan kegiatan sekolah. Kegiatan diberikan oleh para dokter dan psikolog dari Perdhaki.

Kegiatan diawali dengan perkenalan kemudian pemberian pengetahuan seks diberikan terpisah antara remaja laki-laki dan perempuan. Sesi berikutnya, pengetahuan diberikan untuk seluruh remaja, dilanjutkan makan siang, kemudian dialog tentang pergaulan sehat dan akibat jatuh dalam pergaulan yang tidak sehat, termasuk diantaranya bahaya narkoba dan penyakit HIV AIDS.

Sebelum selesai kegiatan, para remaja diajak untuk membuat rencana atau resolusi tahun 2014 sebagai remaja yang baik dan bertanggungjawab. Setiap remaja menulis rencananya di atas potongan karton, kemudian ditempelkan di atas selembar karton besar yang memuat seluruh rencana para remaja. Beberapa di antara mereka berjanji untuk bergaul secara sehat dan tidak memilih teman dan ingin mengajak teman-temannya untuk melakukan hal yang sama. Selesai kegiatan, kami berfoto bersama.

Kami mengucapkan terimakasih banyak pada para fasilitator kegiatan pendidikan seks yang diberikan oleh tim dokter dari Perdhaki serta Bu Elisabeth. Kegiatan yang berguna dapat menambah pengetahuan para remaja dan kiranya dapat mengilhami mereka untuk bergaul dengan baik dan menjadi lebih bertanggungjawab.

Pada Sabtu, 14 Desember 2013, kami melaksanakan kegiatan kepemimpinan dibimbing oleh Kak Alvieni. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 13 anak, termasuk pengurus program. Kegiatan awal dilakukan dengan permainan untuk lebih mengenal dan menggali sifat positif teman dan diri sendiri kemudian dilanjutkan dengan mengenal tokoh-tokoh pemimpin dunia yang menginspirasi masyarakat dunia baik dalam semangatnya untuk mensejahterakan masyarakat maupun sikapnya yang toleran, cinta perdamaian dan menghormati hak-hak asasi manusia.

Terimakasih banyak pada Kak Alvieni atas kesediaannya membimbing anak-anak dan membuka pemahaman dan pengetahuan baru. Kiranya kerjasama yang telah dijalin selama ini, dapat terus berlanjut dengan baik.

Sepanjang bulan Desember 2013 kami melakukan kegiatan evaluasi program dan kurikulum serta penyusunan kegiatan program dan kurikulum 2014 setiap Sabtu dan Minggu demikian pula dengan kegiatan ketrampilan dan produksi dalam menyambut Natal yang dilakukan setiap Rabu dan Sabtu.

Kami ucapkan terimakasih banyak atas kerjasama para fasilitator, volunteer, warga Cakung, baik pada Kak Qori’ah, Kak Uju, Bu Mar’ah, Riska, Yana, Indri, dan anak-anak pengurus program.

Beasiswa

Selama Desember 2013, pengeluaran untuk kebutuhan sekolah diberikan pada anak tingkat SD maupun tingkat SMP serta tingkat perguruan tinggi. Pembelian kebutuhan sekolah dilakukan juga untuk anak tingkat SMP atas permintaan orang tua. Kebutuhan selama bulan ini adalah fotokopi bahan-bahan belajar, buku pelajaran sekolah, dan alat tulis.

Pada pertengahan Desember 2013 sebelum mulai libur Natal dan Tahun Baru, rapor diberikan pada murid tingkat SD dan SMP.
Libur Natal dan Tahun Baru tingkat perguruan tinggi dimulai sehari sebelum Natal, selama hampir dua minggu. Seminggu setelah libur, dilanjutkan dengan ujian akhir semester genap.

Terimakasih kami pada teman-teman yang berkenan rutin membantu penyelenggaraan program beasiswa ini. Kami berharap kerjasama ini dapat terus berlanjut dan menjadi bekal yang berguna bagi masa depan anak-anak.

Rencana kegiatan di bulan Januari 2014 ini adalah :

a. Refleksi tahunan bagi seluruh anak pengurus program dan fasilitator pada Sabtu, 4 Januari 2014, dibimbing oleh Kak Alvieni.
b. Pertemuan pembagian sisa hasil usaha bagi penanam modal dalam program peningkatan pendapatan remaja dan ibu Cakung pada Sabtu, 4 Januari 2014.
c. Dimulainya kegiatan administrasi program-program kegiatan tahun 2014 pada Rabu, 8 Januari 2014.
d. Dimulainya kegiatan belajar anak Cakung pada Jumat, 10 Januari 2014 dan bagi anak Muara Baru pada Minggu, 12 Januari 2014.
e. Pemberesan pengaturan buku-buku dan barang-barang di rumah belajar baru.
