Dear friends,
We were grateful to God and to our loyal
friends who supported the children learning community activities throughout
July 2018. The activities run smoothly at both Cakung and Sarang Tupai, Ciawi.
During the month of July, big sister Tia, Mrs. Mar’ah, Yohana, big
sister Indri, big sister Ari, and big sister Debby helped Cakung’s children
with their learning. Meanwhile Mrs. Lanny, Mrs. Ruth, Novi, Cinta, and big
sister Debby assisted Sarang Tupai’s children.
We thanked
facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who gave their time,
efforts, finances and facilty for this learning program.
In holiday season, at the first week of July 2018, we gathered
with the children and Ciawi’s community.
They enjoyed holiday treats. They ate pandan leaves steam rice
with chicken coconut soup and also cooked vegetable. The community prepared
these dishes. Children’s mothers also added some dishes to complete the
holiday’s menu.
In the first week of July, big sister Arleta and family visited
Cakung. They got to know the children and facilitators.
Big sister Arleta is a closed friend of big sister Debby and big
sister Ari since they were in High School. Big sister Arleta has also involved
in charity and community development like us.
She brought milk and healthy snacks for Cakung’s children.
Big sister Arleta taught English lesson to the children. She also
bought the handicraft products made by Cakung’s teenagers and mothers.
The children were very grateful for her thought and attention. The
children also very pleased with donations of story books, clothes and healthy
food.
The children hope for continuous relation with big sister Arleta.
In
July, we also strengthen our relation with a donor. During her down time,
somehow, we kept our support in visitation, group prayer and other needs.
In mid June 2018, we also experienced a loss of a friend. Big
sister Yanti has been supported our Cakung’s activities. With family on her bed
side, she passed in peace after battling illness.
At the end of July 2018, we attended her 40 days memorial mass at
her previous office.
We prayed for her forgiveness and peaceful rest in the house of
the Lord.
In July, under scholarship program, we helped several needy
parents.
In the beginning of school year, many of recipient’s parents came
to us seeking assistance.
Within the budget, we tried to accommodate their needs. We
allocated some expenses from the unused budget.
We were able to do budget allocation after learning that some
recipients change their education plan due to family circumstances.
There was an Elementary graduate who decline our assistance
because of family matter. His father decided to take back the recipient to his far
away hometown. He was one of the recipients who had a secure scholarship budget
with us.
There was also a Sarang Tupai’s Middle School graduate who moved with
her uncle and aunt to
pursue vocational high school in Jakarta. Instead, there is a Sarang Tupai’s Middle
School graduate who need our support with the enrollment fees.
We helped some recipients with their school activities fees and
text books.
We
thank loyal donors who relentlessly providing us with scholarship assistance.
Your support is valuable for these children’s future.
Throughout July 2018, we prepared
various healthy meals for Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children. We prepared
pandan leaves rice cake with coconut milk; fruit salad; cookies; green bean
porridge top with white bread; rice noodle soup and boiled eggs; rice dish with
fried soy bean cake, fried tofu, fried salty anchovy and steam vegetable; milk;
snack; steam corn kernel top with cheese.
The
Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children thank big sister Arleta and her family for
their donations of milk and cookies. The Sarang Tupai’s children also thank
Mrs. Tjandra for delicious cookies.
We
also thank the facilitators and the community of Cakung and Sarang Tupai for
preparing healthy meals throughout July 2018.
“Kartini” cooperative effort ran
well. Community spared their time to purchase their grocery at the cooperative
after learning session.
We thank our loyal friends for their
support.
We
wish for longevity of this program.

give English lesson on Friday and Saturday in the second week of August 2018.
b. Review, games and
competition to celebrate Indonesia Independence Day at Cakung and Sarang Tupai.

for recipients in Elementary, Middle School, High School and Vocational High School level.
