Dear friends,
The Children Learning Community is very grateful for your support and prayer. All activities ran smoothly throughout the month.
We fill the month of August with activities such as celebrating Indonesia’s independence and reviewing our 2nd quarter lesson in Sarang Tupai. Meanwhile, in Cakung, we fill the month with regular activity.
The Independence Day was joyfully celebrated in Sarang Tupai on Monday, August 24th, 2015.
A week before the Independence Day’s activity, several teenagers helped us with the preparation and registration the participants of various games. While the teenagers doing that, we had our 2nd quarter review. Cantik, Pagi and Novi were also helped us wrapping the presents.
On the day of celebration, children were very excited. They even came one hour earlier before we started the activity. Aulia, one of Sarang Tupai teenager, helped us recalling the name of the celebration participants.
The facilitators prepared the activity’s run down. All the activities were supervised by big sister Ivonne, Tina, Debby and the teenagers, Novi and Pagi.
All children enthusiastically participated in the Independence Day’s program such as games and sports competition. Games are played according to their age group. The teenagers formed a group, while the little children formed another group. The teenagers played “Chinese whispers”, passing words from one person to another, passing object to the end of line and puzzles board. The little children competed in collecting similar color candies. The mental competition for teenagers include mathematic and general knowledge quiz. The little children competed in scrabble, guessing game, drawing and coloring.
The winner of games and sports competition was announced right away at the end of activities. Because of time constrain we were not be able to distribute all the winner presents.
We did it on Monday, 24 August 2015 and Thursday, 27 August 2015.
