During March 2014, the alternative education of Children Learning Community could run well, thanks for your prayer and support.
Alternative Learning Activities
a. Cakung Children Community
The learning activities could run well.
Like a month ago, in this month, there are 12 new participants and some old participants who begin to learn regularly in the learning house. They are from 0 until 3rd categories.
We are grateful for more children participants and the trust of the residents of our activities in the learning house of Cakung children community. The attendance of the male facilitator few months ago also keep the cheerful situation. Some boys begin to learn regularly.
We hope the children’s spirit keep burning and always active following the activities in the learning house.
The next life-skill activity is still focused on recycled material creations such as purse, handbag, tissue cover and pencil case from coffee sachettes, dishcleaner powder sachettes, etc, also on paper quilling creations and pearl, natural stone creations from a friend’s support.
We are gladly receiving your plastic garbages for supporting the income generating program for the teenagers and the mothers of Children Learning Community. Together we move the action of reduce, reuse, and recycled the plastic garbages.
Thank you to Sr. Marcelline, OSU who regularly collecting the recycled materials for the teenagers’ life-skill activities of Children Learning Community.
b. The Muara Baru Community
The learning activity started on Sunday, February 2nd, 2014 and on Sunday, February 16th, 2014 to be exact.
Ms. Lucy’s attendance on February 16th, 2014, gave the new influence and good spirit to the teenagers of Muara Baru, especially in Mathematics. Ms. Lucy is the facilitator in the early years of Children Learning Community’s stand.
We thank all the collaborative works among the facilitators, the volunteers, the children and residents of Cakung and Muara Baru, especially to Mrs. Herda at Muara Baru, Ms. Lucy, Riska, Ms. Qori’ah, Ms. Uju, Indri, Esther, Mohandri, Mrs. Mar’ah, and the children coordinator program.
Bibliotheque
The library activity was still in reregistration and take care of all the library books. We took out some of student books for borrowing or giving to the children. Some student books as the reference for learning, were still in the bookshelf.
The library activities which run by the team, since March 2014 change the schedule into Thursday and Friday.
Finally we are thankful for the attention and the perseverance of the team.
Nutrition Improvement Program for Children
On March 2014, the program could run well.
Besides drinking milk every Saturday, the healthy menus were hard-boiled egg, banana, tofu filled with siomay, orange foam pudding, and kangkung with rujak sauce.
The healthy menu on the first Saturday of March 2014 was hard-boiled egg, which usually eaten with soyasauce or sprinkle salt.
The healthy menu on the second Friday of March 2014 was banana while on the third Saturday of March 2014 was tofu filled with siomay, which prepared by the team since Friday, from typing the recipe, making the list, until managing the work task for tomorrow.
On the fourth Friday of March 2014, the team prepared the orange foam pudding. Although it made the team busy and seem unable to handle, finally the pudding was delicious and beautiful. The children liked to eat it, while some feel odd with the freeze foam.
On the last Saturday of March 2014, the team prepared kangkung with rujak sauce for all the children and some mothers who follow the cooperation activity. The children loved to eat it with the spicy sour sauce.
We thank the team who organised the healthy menu and cooked it during March 2014 and special thanks to the facilitators who lend a hand during preparation.
Children Scholarship
On March 2014, the scholarship expenditures were in providing the university reregistration on semester IV, internet pulse for modem, copy learning materials, refill ink printer, student books, some material for student handycraft, and the students weekly accommodation.
Two teenagers as the volunteers who are the participants in 4th category few years ago have desire to continue their study in high school. They are left by their father, so their mother has to work hard as a blue collar worker. Now, the teenagers are still in evaluation, especially their commitment to facilitate the younger children in the learning house.
We are so grateful to our friends who would like to support the program regularly. We hope the collaboration will continue well and become the worth provide for the children’s future.
April 2013 Activity Plans
1. Learning Activities
a. The learning activity run every Friday and Saturday from 12 PM til 3.30 PM.
b. On April 18th and 19th, 2014, the learning activities will off due to three holy days of Easter.
c. The life-skill activity which run every Wednesday from day til afternoon in the learning house, now change into Tuesday.
d. The learning evaluation for all the children participants in all categories in the learning house on Saturday, April 26th, 2014.
2. The Nutrition Improvement Program for Children
a. Providing the healthy menu and purchasing milk, also providing the kitchenware.
3. Bibliotheque
a. Registering and taking care all the library books.
