Caring and Praying for Our Friends, Progress Report of Children Learning Community in February 2020

 

Dear friends,

 

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community throughout February 2020. All activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai, Ciawi and Muara Tawar ran smoothly.

 

In the middle of February, big sister Eka, Ms.Ko, Nikola and her Junior High friends assisted Muara Tawar’s children. Big brother Arif, also came by. Big sister Nikola is a daughter of Ms.Ko. Big brother Arif was an old friend since the first Cakung community located.  

 

The children were happy to see big sister Nikola and her friends. The children enjoyed their friendly mentorship. They learned many subjects, including English.

  

Big sister Nikola also shared her birthday moment with the children.

 

The children enjoyed delicious birthday cake from big sister Nikola. They were also very grateful to have from big sister Nikola and her friends teaching them. 

 

They were hoping to see them back and continue connecting with them.

 

Our community also grateful to welcome the newest member. Big sister Mona, a long time Cakung’s facilitator had a beautiful baby. Big sister Mona used to taught the Cakung’s children in the middle of vegetable field.

 

We prayed for the health of mother and the baby.

 

On Tuesday, at the 18^th of February 2020, we lost our dear friend, the late Sr. Elisa, OSU. She has always been supported of women’s and teenager’s skill development in providing the coffee pack.

 

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s ladies remembered her as a nun who diligently collected coffee packs for them. They use the recycle coffee pack for making hand bags and other things.

 

We prayed for God’s forgiveness and peaceful resting.

 

On the 19^th of February 2020, Cakung’s and Muara Tawar’s children attended Alena’s birthday party. She is a little sister of big sister Nikola.  

 

Children were happy to celebrate birthday at Alena’s home.

 

Children thanked Ms.Ko and her family for their kindness in sharing their joy with them.

 

The children prayed for Alena in her growing up and character building.

 

May she grow to be a person who obey and respect her parents.

 

At the same day, Ciawi’s children also gathered to commemorate the passing of late Holil, 40 days ago. Children had lunch with the family of late Holil.

 

The mother thanked the children and asked them to pray for Holil’s eternal resting place.

 

Below are pictures of Cakung’s, Ciawi’s, and Muara Tawar’s activities. There are also some pictures of monsoon rain in Ciawi and flooded house in Cakung. 

 

 

We were grateful to fulfil children’s needs through scholarship program this month.

 

Some recipients received monthly school fees, transportation allowances and school supplies.  

 

The children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

 

With your support, children will have hope for better future.

  

This month healthy menu include “soto ayam”, chicken soup, cake, biscuit, “dodol”, caramelized sugar paste with shredded coconut meat, traditional treats such as “apem”, “kolak biji salak”, “ketan unti” and fruits such as mangoesteen and snakefruits.

  

Children thanked facilitators and communities in all three locations for preparing heathy meal in February 2020.

  

Muara Tawar’s children also thanked an anonymous donor for cake. They also thanked big sister Nikola who shower them with snacks and birthday cake at her birthday party.  They also thanked big brother Arif Budi who provided them with milk.

 

We ask many of our loyal friends to join us in caring for children and communities.

 

Your kindness and supports have strengthened us to carry on this duty and service.

We are grateful to our friends for their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

 

You have boosted our moral in bringing up the underprivileged community. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part with nation’s effort for social justice.  

 

Financial contributions and continuous support were still needed in 2020.

 

Even the smallest helps, will be beneficial to the children, the nation’s future generations.

 

We thank dedicated donors for their financial supports. They are valuable for Children Learning Community’s day to day operation.

 

We thank Sr. Elisa and the community of Ursulin sisterhood monastery for their effort on collecting recycle coffee packs. We also thank Mrs. Fitri Sudartini for her donation of bags.

 

Thank you very much to Jessica and Mr.David for your kindness in translating this report.

 

We are grateful for your loyalty, commitment, trust and warm friendship.
