Lots of New Children

by Yana Year 1 Vocational School

Recently, Cakung Children Community welcomed many new children who wish join to learn at the Learning House. In the past, most of the children came from Learning House however, this time they welcomed children from surrounding neighborhood too. These children are from Masjid Lane, Basro Lane and some are from Cakung Sampah (garbage dump area). There are four children from Basro Lane and four children from Masjid Lane and five from Cakung Sampah, so there are 13 children in total.

Nowadays, they normally gather and learn together on every Sunday. There are at least 56 children taken care by Cakung Children Community.
In their learning activities, the children are divided into 5 categories. First category is for preschool children who are assisted by Sister Debby. Second category is for children who are just learning to read and write. Third category is for children who are already able to read and already in year 1, year 2 and year 3 primary school. Fourth category is for children who are excellent in reading and normally they are in year 4, year 5 and year 6 primary school. Fifth category is for children who are quite superior and they are in year 6 and year 1 Vocational School (equals to year 10).

Oh, I forgot to mention the total of children in each category.
First Category has at least 12 children and assisted by Sister Debby.
Second Category consists of at least 10 children and assisted by Sister Uju.
Third Category has at least 15 children and assisted by Sister Uwie.
Fourth Category has at least 6 children and assisted by Sister Qori’ah.
Fifth Category comprised of at least 7 children and assisted by Sister Rikah.
