School holidays. Children Learning Community, July 2022 Report

 

Dear friends,

  

We thank our loyal friends for keeping the children learning community run until today. Thank you for all your prayers and kind attention to the children.

 

Despite July’s school holidays, children were still very enthusiast to learn at learning centre.

 

In Cakung’s limited space, children came to study and even brought some neighborhood friends to learn.

 

Among the children, we found out that some 4^th and 5^th graders were not fluent in reading and writing . We decided to give them dictation practice.

 

Some volunteers from Cakung came to help assist the children on reading.

 

We thank facilitators who put their effort in this learning activity.   

 

On National Children’s Day the 23^rd of July 2022, Ciawi’s children had a chance to visit Bogor Presidential Museum, Zoological Museum and Bogor Botanical Garden.

 

A day before visitation, all attendees were ordered to take covid test. 

 

The children thank Mrs. Melly for her care and generous financial contribution for this educational tour.

 

Throughout the tour, children showed interest to the subjects presented. In presidential palace, children learned about all the Indonesian presidents with their leadership trade.

 

Right after that, Mr. Bima Arya, the mayor of Bogor gave his time to greet the children in his town hall office.

  

Mr. Bima Arya gave some words of encouragement to the children. He also tested the children on their knowledge. The children were happy to answer questions. They received a book of memoir of Mr. Bima Arya as Bogor’s mayor. Through watching a short movie, children also were educated about Bogor’s development, especially during Mr. Bima Arya’s time as Mayor.

 

After that, we took  group pictures in the meeting room of Bogor’s town hall and marched to a shuttle bus that has been prepared by Mr. Mayor to take us to botanical garden.   

 

We thanked Mr. Bima Arya for his kindness to the children of Ciawi, Bogor District.    

  

Below are pictures of Cakung’s and Ciawi’s children activities, including after learning healthy meal gathering. The healthy meals were prepared by facilitators and parents.

The children thank donors who are dedicated to assist them achieve their goals in school.

This 2022-2023 academic year, we still need your financial assistance for some children.

August 2022 plan :

 

1. Learning Activity Cakung and Ciawi,

1. In Cakung, learning activity will be held on Thursday and in Ciawi, learning will be held on Wednesday and Saturday. 
2. In Cakung, 2^nd Quarter review and Independence Day’s games will be held on Thursday, 18 August 2022. In Ciawi, these events will held on Saturday, 20 August 2022.

 

2. Scholarship
1. Monthly school fee and other school related needs will be paid to several recipients’ schools.

 

3. Staple Food Cooperative Effort

Members of Kartini cooperative in Cakung and Ciawi cooperative community do their purchase and have regular meeting.  

 

4. Administration and office affair.

Despite short of fund, we found a way to run the children’s activity. Since June, we are working with a Credit Union in North Jakarta to support us with some loan.

Every month, we paid monthly instalment and include it in our monthly financial report.

 

We are grateful to all our friends to carry this responsibility with us. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part in the nation’s effort for social justice. For that, we ask for your routine contribution this year.

 

We thank Sr. Agustina, BKK and Sr. Lucia, OSU for their clothing donation. Children and the community are also grateful to big sister Daisy Sularmi Ningtyas for her vitamin donation.  

 

We thank our donors for their financial dedication. They really help to further the operation of Children Learning Community.

Even the smallest help has great impact to this future generation.
