Ms Mona’s farewell

By Febry & Riska

On Saturday, 19th February 2011, there was a big occasion for the children of Cakung community. Ms Mona went to her hometown for good. After finishing her school, Ms Mona wanted to spend her future life where her parents live which is Balikpapan.

Ms Debby asked, “Of which province is Balikpapan the capital of?” Yana answered, “East Kalimantan”. Yana was right so he got the chance to be the first person to receive the meal served by Ms Mona.

Ms Mona said that in five years’ time, when she came back here, she wanted to see the Cakung children graduated from their schools, also Yana graduated from SMK (vocational high school). If Yana did not graduate, the children & mothers who were watching shouted “Make her bald, Ms!”

When Ms Mona served the food, she made clear again that all the children must graduate from their schools.

After that, Ms Mona helped by other facilitators distributed the meal. We ate eagerly. The menu was varied there were fried chickens with rending spices and kimlo soup. After meal, we said good bye to Ms Mona and went home.
