Progress Report of Children Learning Community in November 2016

Dear friends,

The Children Learning Community is very grateful for your supports and prayers. All activities in Cakung and Sarang Tupai ran smoothly throughout the month of November 2016.

In Sarang Tupai, the activities are conducted in two separate locations. Every Monday, we conducted the activity at the villa’s yard and terrace. With kindness of villa’s owner, we can use this property for our program. On behalf of children learning center, a friend of us who is the villa’s attendance ask permission to use their facility.  And every Thursday, we use the terrace of Mrs. Ivonne’s home.

In Sarang Tupai, mothers and teenagers were creatively making tissues’ case and water bottle’s covers from recycle coffee pack. They also made greeting cards and rosary beads for gifts to our donors. . These days, they are learning to do knitting using hooks. They are making phone covers and small bags. 

We thank big sister Ita and her friends who provide us with colour papers, plyers and hooks for this activity.  

We thank facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program. We thank Jaka, Ondo, Intan, Ester, Indri, big brother Bosco and Frances in Cakung; also big sister  Ivonne, Mrs. Vera and Mrs. Lanny in Sarang Tupai, Ciawi.

We thank the community of Ursulin Sisterhood Juanda for their routine coffee packs donations. We also thank Mrs. July and the association of Santa Ursula and Kanisius High School alumni for their text book donations. The text books are valuable for Middle School’s and High School’s children.

This month scholarship’s expenditure went for monthly school fees; school’s transportation; and two weeks internship transportation of a Cakung Vocational High School student. 

We are grateful to our friends who continuously provide their financial support for this scholarship program. This scholarship’s support is extremely valuable for the children’s future.

We also prepared healthy diets for both Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children. Children enjoyed green beans porridge topped with bread slice, sweet corn with condense milk and cheese. They also enjoy rice noodle topped with dumpling; assorted rice dish; fried flour mix with mince chicken inside; jack fruit shaved ice; and cookies.

We also express our gratitude to the facilitators and the neighborhood of Cakung and Sarang Tupai who help us in preparing the healthy dish throughout November 2016.

December 2016 Plan :

1.                Learning Activity

a.    In the beginning of December 2016, we review all Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children. 

b.    Children will enjoy their holiday from the second week of December 2016 to the second week of January 2017.

c.    Craft for Cakung’s teenagers and young mothers.

d.    On the 18th of December 2016, facilitators will review all learning lessons and activities at the home of big brother Bosco and Frances.

2.                 Children are invited for Christmas’ brunch on the 25^th of December 2016 at the headquarters of Single Parent Community in Jatinegara, Jakarta.  

3.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling school needs for recipients.

b.   Children will enjoy their school holidays at the end of December until the beginning of January 2017.

Finally, we express many thanks to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials. The learning activity ran well because of your support.

We are deeply touched by many of our donors’ generosity. They prioritized others than themselves.  We truly appreciate your trust in our efforts.

We are grateful for your relentless support and trust in our program throughout 2016.
