Dear friends,
We were grateful to God and to our loyal
friends who supported the children learning community activities throughout
February 2019. The activities run smoothly at Cakung, Sarang Tupai, Ciawi and
Muara Tawar.
For those who celebrate Chinese New Year, we wish you a very happy
one.
During Chinese New Year, we celebrated this joyful moment with a
family who was one of Cakung’s community members. The children attend our class
regularly and the mother often teaches our cooking class as a facilitator.
They are happy to see us at their home that day.
On Saturday at the second week of February 2019, Cakung’s children
visited Santa Maria’s Museum in Juanda Street and National Museum.
Small children came with their mothers. We rented a mini bus that
had enough sits for everybody.
Children enjoyed their museum trip. Mr. Aji, a Santa Maria’s
museum administrator, guided the children and explained the exhibit historical
artifacts.
The children also had a chance to meet Sr. Lucia, OSU. She is the
head of Santa Maria’s museum. She distributed snacks and drinks during break
time and also gave her time to take group picture with the children.
We thanked Sr. Lucia OSU, Mr. Aji and staff for inviting us to
their museum. We thanked for their time and warm welcome.
These days, children are more visual than ever. We understand that
the children need to experience and look at the historical artifacts. We are
sure that this method of education will be memorable for the children and will
be beneficial in their learning development.
This month, we compiled many pictures from our three learning
centers. We also showed some pictures of the village of Muara Tawar.
We thank
facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their
time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.
The three learning centers are still in need of your financial
support at this moment. Here is their priority:
- Cakung’s center need a white board to replace the old white board and book cases for their library books
- Sarang Tupai’s center need badminton and volley ball equipments.
- Muara Tawar’s center needs learning desks.
For the sake of the children, we believe that these priorities
will be meet with your support.
Throughout February 2019, we prepared
various healthy foods in three facilities. Those foods were local fruits such
as duku and sawo; also snake fruit and mangosteen. We also prepared chocolate milk and snacks
such as boiled eggs, donuts, fried onion cassava rolls, orange pudding and rice
noodle egg roll. We prepared these snacks ourselves to ensure the children get
the most nutritious and healthy snacks.
We expressed our gratitude to facilitators
and the community of Cakung, Sarang Tupai and Muara Tawar who helped us with
healthy foods this month.
This month, we fulfilled scholarship recipients’ need such as
monthly school fees, school transportation, school supplies and monthly school
activity.
We
thank loyal donor who relentlessly providing us with scholarship assistance.
Your
support is valuable for these children’s future.
We ask many of our loyal friends to
join us caring for the children and community.
To fulfill the 2019’s budget gap, the facilitators encourage
teenagers and mothers to make onion cheese stick and sauted peanuts for sale.
Order can be placed through email, telephone and whatsapp
messages. These contact information will be stated at the end of this report.
Your attention and support give us
strength to continue this duty and service.
