Progress Report of Children Learning Community in March 2019

Dear friends,

 

Wishing the Hindus for a day of silence, Nyepi, at Caka year 1941.

 

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community throughout March 2019. Children Learning Community activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai, Ciawi and Muara Tawar ran smoothly.

In the beginning of March 2019, the children and facilitators were invited for a house warming party at one of the children’s new place in Malaka, North Jakarta. Until recently, they were living nearby learning center. We were happy to see their new home. Children also were very excited riding fun transportation cart. The family prepared delicious food for the children.

Throughout the month, we compiled many pictures of the children’s activity at the three learning centers.

We thank facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.

The three learning centers are still in need of your financial support at this moment. Here are their priorities:

1. Children at Cakung’s center need a white board to replace the old white board and book cases for their library books
2. Children at Sarang Tupai’s center need badminton and volley ball equipments.
3. Children at Muara Tawar’s center needs learning desks and cupboard.

For the sake of the children, these priorities will be met with your support.

During rainy seasons in March 2019, we prepared various local fruits such as snake fruit, banana, papaya, oranges and local duku fruits. Children also enjoyed chocolate bread, casserole and cookies. We thank Sr. Annunciata, OSU for cookies donations.

We expressed our gratitude to facilitators and the community of Cakung, Sarang Tupai and Muara Tawar who helped us with healthy foods this month.

This month, we fulfilled scholarship recipients’ need such as monthly school fees, school transportation, school supplies and monthly school activity.  

We thank loyal donors who relentlessly providing us with scholarship assistance. Your support is valuable for these children’s future.

We ask many of our loyal friends to join us caring for the children and community.

To fulfill the 2019’s budget gap, the facilitators encourage the cooking facilitator to make onion cheese stick, sautéed peanuts and pao filed with cook chicken and turnip for sale.

Your attention and support give us strength to continue this duty and service.

April 2019 Plan:

1.             Learning Activity

  a.   Regular learning and skill activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai   and Muara Tawar

b.   Children in those three facilities will be getting their review at the end of April 2019.

c.   Fulfilling the facilities for the children at three based communities.

2.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling school needs for recipients in Elementary, Middle and Vocational High School level.

3.                Staple Needs Cooperative Effort

Out of stock items will be purchased in the beginning of April 2019.

We are grateful to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials throughout this month.

We are deeply touched by many of our donors’ generosity who put others before themselves. We truly appreciate your trust in our effort.
