WATCHING MOVIE TOGETHER

On Monday, 27 June 2011, we, the children from Cakung Community, were invited by ladies and their children from Harapan Indah estate to watch movie together in Cinema XXI Kelapa Gading Shopping Centre 3, North Jakarta.

1. Grouping

We gathered at Learning House on 10.00AM. While waiting for Kak Debby and other seniors to arrive, we played and bought some snacks. We had planned the trip a few days prior by grouping the participants. We were clustered into 4 groups.
The Leaders of Group I was Bang Ondo, Group II was Kak Riska, Group III was Kak Ester and Group IV was Kak Fanny.

Kak Debby, Kak Tuning and Kak Merry came around 11AM. We then stood in lines according to the groups. Kak Debby then rearranged the members of each group and put siblings in the same group so the elders would look after the youngsters.

After rearranging the groups, we were ready to go. I was part of Group IV and went into the second car together with the children in Group III. In this second car, there were Tia, Erna, Fanny, Neng, Anisa, Sergio, Pedro, Ondo, Zaka, Nael, Riska, Husen, Gabri, Icha and myself. We were accompanied by Kak Debby.

2. During the Trip

I was in the first car together with friends from Group I and II. Amongst us, there were Lina, Lini, Umi, Kevin, Guntur, Devi and Ester. We were chaperoned by Kak Merry. In this car, some of us had lollies and drank water.

Most of us brought drink and snack as Kak Debby reminded us to bring some logistics and a jacket or long sleeves sweater as the cinema may be quite cold.

The first car was leading the second car on the road. It was like a ‘racing’. The driver tried to find a shortcut route. Once we reached Kelapa Gading area, the second car was in front of the first car. Then, the second car entered a wrong street and the first car followed it. All of us then were lost. The second car went to Semper direction instead. We lost Kak Tuning’s car from our sight. Then, Kak Merry called Kak Deby. Then, our car made a U turn.

Not long after that, our car arrived in Kelapa Gading Mall. We all got down at the lobby of Mall 2 and waited for the others to meet us there. Kak Debby and friends then entered the main entrance door and picked us up. We all then went to the main entrance of Mall 3 to meet up with Kak Tuning and other friends.

During the Trip by Erna

We, of Group III and IV, were in the second car. It was Kak Fanny, Kak Riska, Intan, Tia, Anisa, Husen, Sergio, Gabriel, Nael, Pedro, Icha, Neng, Bang Ondo, Jaka, Kak Debby and myself.

When we reached Pintu Air, we were offered some biscuits. Some of us had the biscuits, while some of us did not take it. After the biscuits, we shared the snacks we brought from home.

It was a fun trip, we shared jokes. Until we felt that it was quite warm and sweaty in the car. We were lost and had to make a U turn. The first car which followed us went lost as well.

Surprisingly, we arrived at the Mall earlier than the other car. We were waiting for the other friends who took in the first car and in Kak Tuning’s car.

3. Arrived at the Mall

We had been waiting for quite some time outside the Mall. Then, we decided to go inside and looked for other friends who were in the other cars. When we entered the Mall, Husen and I saw some tourists. We stayed and sit down on the bench for awhile. Then we went outside again hoping to see our friends coming. Finally we met them.

4. Waiting for the movie to start

Before entering the cinema, we were sitting on the long bench. We teased around by trying to secure the bench for us. While sitting, we had our snacks. Some of us had the snacks and some of us enjoyed jokes and laughter.

5. Entering the Cinema

Before entering the cinema, we stood in lines and no one pushing around. I felt the ambience of the cinema as quiet and cold. Kak Debby, Kak Tuning and Kak Merry straight away set us in lines. We were seated in row D and E. The seniors sat at the end of the rows.

We sat and waited for the movie to start. There were several advertisements prior the lights went off. Then, the movie “Serdadu Kumbang” started.

We bought the tickets and went to Cinema 6. We sat and the movie stated. Its title was Serdadu Kumbang.
