WATCHING MOVIE TOGETHER

On Monday, 27 June 2011, we, the children from Cakung Community, were invited by ladies and their children from Harapan Indah estate to watch movie together in Cinema XXI Kelapa Gading Shopping Centre 3, North Jakarta.

6. The movie starts

The movie was so fun and exciting. I watched it while having some snacks too. Bang Zaka had his buns and I asked for some from him. After that, I opened my snack box and started having it. Neng who sat close to me asked for some of my snack and I shared it with her. After my snack was finished, Neng opened hers and shared it with me. When the movie already started for quite some time, Husen was busy looking for his milk. He forgot where he put the milk carton. Neng and I helped him to find it in the dark. Finally, we found it.

I was sitting in row D in the cinema. The cinema is so huge. There were Intan, Mayang and Kak Ester in row D seats as well. When the movie started, all the lights were off and the airconditioner was in full power. The movie was so exciting. However, I noticed some friends went to sleep, they were Kevin and Sergio. There were some who felt bored and joked around with others. I felt a bit sleepy and cold for awhile too.

Kevin was accidently took someone’s else pop corn. It was quite an embarrassing moment. “Oh gosh Kevin, are you so hungry? “ I was hungry too as I only had light snack before leaving the Learning House. In the middle of the movie, I had to ask for permission as I need to go to the bathroom.

We went upstairs to Cinema XXI. We sat down in the lobby waiting for the movie which would start on 1:50PM. Then we went inside the cinema. I sat at the end of the row. Next to me was Anisa and then Intan, Mayang, Devi, Guntur, Tia and Ondo.

7. The Story is…..

The movie ‘Serdadu Kumbang’ is about a little boy named Ame. He lives together with his mom and sister. His dad works in Malaysia and Ame really missed and wants to meet his dad. He tried different ways to be able to get in touch with his dad. At school, he is very good and discipline to himself. However, it was always his sister who becomes the star of the class. Ame has a horse, named Smodeng. At the end of the story, Ame’s sister passed away, she fell from the tree of dreams after being announced as not pass the Junior High School.

It was about a boy who dreams to be a journalist. His name is Ame. Ame has a friend named Umbe. And Ame has a horse, Smodeng. One of his teachers – the fierce one – is Alim. He used to punish students who were absent no matter what the reasons are. The other teacher was Ms. Halimah who once asked Ame, what he would like to be in future. Ame answered, he did not know. On the way home, Ame has disappointed some of his friend as he does not know his aspirations in life. All of Ame’s friends hung their wishes in bottles and hang it to the tree of dreams. One day, Ame’s mom called her. There was a letter from her dad. ….

Ame’s sister rode the horse and she died in the dreams tree.

8. After the movie…

After watching the movie, we all went out through the exit door next to the big screen. We went out quietly and straight away asked the Seniors if we could go to the toilet.

My friends and myself were accompanied by Kak Ester while the other friends went to the boys toilet with Bang Ondo.

We then took photos together with friends in Harapan Indah Estate. I saw Jingga tried to grab candies from her bag however, she dropped them. As we could not having it anymore, we throw them to the garbage bin. After that, we took more photos with the Serdadu Kumbang’s picture as the background. After the photo sessions, we went to a restaurant for early dinner. We were all very happy.

9. While we’re in the resataurant. The games and food.

After watching the movie, we were invited to have early dinner at Bakmi Gajah Mada. We had a quiz and it was so fun. The quiz was about naming the characters in the movie. We shared jokes, sang songs, did some fashion show, sticking the drink straw on hair and more. The winners of the quiz and games would get stationery case which has pens, pencils, ruler, sharpener and eraser. After the quiz and games, we had the meals. It was noodle. Then, we got some ballons except me as I was scared of ballons and am not that little anymore. Then, we went home.

After the movie, we went to a restaurant, and had some games before the meals. We sang, playing quiz and games. We put drink straws to friend’s hair. The one who put the straws the most would be the winner. The prize was a stationery case with many types of stationery in it. After the game, the highly expected meals came. However, we had to wash our hands first. Then, we had the noodle. After that, we went home.

After the movie….. by Riska

After the show, we went to a restaurant. Once we arrived at Bakmi GM restaurant, we played games.

The games was about retelling the story of the movie, such as what was the name of the disabled kid? Then, Cynthia answered, “It was Ame, Sist.” Then, we asked Cynthia to sing. She sang Twinkle Twinkle Little star. After that, we had another quiz. The question was who was the name of Ame’s teacher who liked to punish students? Riska answered, “ Pak Halim, Sist”. Then Seniors asked her to sing “Dua Mata Saya” (My Two Eyes). Then Riska sang the song. After that, we had several other games. The leader of the games session was Kak Mira.

The games introduced by Kak Mira involving 3 boys and 3 girls. They are Kevin, Sergio, Pedro on the boys side and Erna, Anisa and Jingga in the girls side.
The game was that the boys should put as much drink straws into the girls’ hair. The winners were Kevin and Erna. As the participants were so brave to come out in front of many people, they all got some presents. And, there were some more games.
After the games, we stood in lines and sang “Naik Kereta Api” (Taking Train) while distributing some foods. After we had our meals, we were lined up again to get ballons. Then, we took photos and went home together.

10. Exiting the Mall and Going Home ….

On the trip back home, we held in a traffic jam. In the car, we sang songs and we saw some people passing by us and made fun of us.

After several hours in the traffic jam, we finally reached home around 8pm.
