My activity in 2011
By Indri
Since January 2011 I take some activitiesat the school. I have been involved in an activity that relates to my high school major which is accountancy. Along with some friends, we were given a task to take care of the school bank, which opens straight away after school from 12:30pm to 4pm. The school usually has a computer practise programme every Friday. I am taking part in this programme which occurs at the same day as the learning activity in the Cakung Children Community. The computer practise programme starts from 1:15pm to 2:15pm.
This computer practise programme divides into to 2 slots of time. The first one starts at 1:15pm to 2:15pm and the second starts at 2:15pm to 3:15pm. Every week the schedule is random so if I got the first slot I had to ask permission from the mentors of theCakung Children Community.
The other activity is teamwork which usually runs after school involving all the children in my class. Like above, if it happens at the same time as the learning activity in theCakung Children Community, I have to ask permission.
The first week of February was a school holiday because year 3 pupils were having a mock exam. My friends and I were given a task of Double System Education in business/industry to start our apprenticeships. We spent our holiday searching for a company or a factory which will welcome our apprenticeships. I visited 2 companies; one of them was the Soho pharmacy group.
My main activity at the Cakung Children Community venue is learning for category IV;accompanyingcategory III children for notice board and sometime helping the mentors accompanying children of category I and II. I’m also responsible for the venue as to supervise my team members in learning supply area and preparation of the learning activity. Alongside supervisingI am also in charge of counting the stationaries inventory, books and amenities every month. Another role that I have been trusted to is cashier. This is a coincidence with my choice of major in high school, i.e. accountancy. As a cashier I am also responsible for calculating the bazaar material. Every Saturday I submit the financial report to Ms Uwie as the financial coordinator. Every last Saturday of the month, I take part in the financial monthly meeting.
