Stay motivated during pandemic, Children Learning Community June 2021 Report

 

Dear friends,

 

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community’s activity throughout June 2021.

 

In the beginning of June, we received a white board from LDD through Sr. Maria,BKK. We were happy that the day we picked up the board, one of our facilitator also received her first dose of vaccine in the school next to LDD’s office. This facilitator also the one who introduced us to Sr. Maria, BKK.

 

The board given is going to be used for mobile learning. A year ago, since the beginning of pandemic, we have established a mobile learning program. Facilitators are grateful for donation of white board  They are able to bring the portable white board to four meeting points in Cakung, one in Rorotan and one in Ciawi.   

 

We thank big sister Jessica for magazines and clothing donation.

 

 

We hope to preserve our relation in assisting the children and community.

 

 

In order to help the children learn in our mobile learning program, we still in need and open for donation of clip board.

 

In the middle of June 2021, we received a bad news from Ciawi. A few people in our community got evicted from their home. After negotiation with local government as mediator, they agreed to receive one year rent payment. The house that they were staying in will be demolished.

 

 

They joined some families who got evicted over land dispute a few years back. Since two years ago, the winner of land case forced the people to move out.

 

In the middle of June, all students received their report cards. All scholarship recipients passed to the next grade.

 

Children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

 

With your support, children can stay in school and have a better future.

Pandemic has impacted our community. They are creatively finding their way to survive.

 

Some Cakung’s community member creatively  open a fruit stall selling seasonal fruit, such as mangoes which was in season at this moment. Some work as landscapers at newly opened real estate property. In Ciawi, the community continue to cultivate and sell mushroom.

 

 

 

To fulfill the expenses, we kindly ask our loyal friends to keep remember the children and community.

 

We appreciate all donors’ generosity, kindness and supports. They boosted our morale and spirit to serve.

 

July 2021 Plan :

 

1. Learning Activity in Cakung, Rorotan, and Ciawi.

 

- Since emergency lockdown, PPKM Darurat, follows by school holidays at the end 2020-2021 academic year, all children learning community activities were off until the end of July.

 

2. Library

 

- Once a week a few facilitators came to sort out books’ donation. Some books were necessary to keep in our library and some books are prepared to be given away to our children or other children in different community.  

 

3. Scholarship

-      Fulfil the needs of recipients for text books and new academic year enrolment fee. 

 

3. Staple Food Cooperative Effort

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s cooperative open for business as usual. Cooperative officers will keep track of sales, inventory and purchase out of stock items.

 

 

We are grateful to our friends for all their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

You have given these children the opportunity to be smart and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part in the nation’s effort for social justice. 

 

Even the smallest help from you, it provides great educational impact to future generation.

  

The Children Learning Community is trying to purchase a permanent learning centre in Cakung. 

 

The owner of current learning centre would like to sell his home to us. It was a privilege that he let us to rent his home for a long time. Now it is the time for us to have our own facility. During pandemic, we mostly utilize the house for office, cooperative effort’s warehouse and facilitators’ meeting place.

 

We really ask for our dear friends helps, references, inputs and financial helps. In the beginning of July, we have collected 25.737.800 IDR.

 

We thank our dear friends and donors for their faith and trust in us.
