Progress Report of Children Learning Community in April 2017

We are grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the activity of children learning community throughout April 2017. 

The Cakung facility was closed in the third week of April 2017, due to Easter holidays. The government also declared the Easter holidays as state holidays.

Big sister Rachel, Mrs. Tjandra, Pagi, Cantik, Mrs. Lanny, Mrs. Vera, and Mrs. Ruth accompanied the Sarang Tupai’s children on their study. Meanwhile in Cakung, big sister Indri, big brother Jaka, big sister Yana, big sister Intan, Mrs. Mar’ah, big borther Diki, and big sister Debby accompanied the children.

With the help of big brother Diki, the Cakung’s children in stage 3 and 4 learned to play guitar. They learned a few basic chords before going into some simple songs.

 

Due to demand for guitar during lesson, we purchased a six strings medium size guitar in April. At this moment, Cakung’s children stage 3 and 4 has enough guitars to practice.

In April 2017, we decided to reward two children for diligently come to learn and save their money. We gave price to Nur and Dino. We hoped that other children will follow their footsteps in studying and saving money.  

We thank facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.

The High School, Vocational High School and Middle School seniors were having their final and state exams this month. These recipients have to complete all their school tasks and exams in order to further their education.  

In the month of April, the scholarship’s expenses include monthly school fee for all recipients who are in the range of Elementary to Vocational High School level. We also distributed fund for transportation, monthly school activity and routine school transportation.   

We are grateful to our friends who continuously provide their financial support for this scholarship program. This scholarship’s support is extremely valuable for the children’s future.

In April, we prepared healthy dishes in Cakung as well as Sarang Tupai. The dishes include green bean porridge and sticky black rice top with condensed milk. Sister. M. Feliciana, OSF from Marsudirini Elementary School, Matraman also donated wafer cookies. We also prepared instant chicken porridge with their condiments boiled eggs, salt and sweet soy sauce.  The instant chicken porridge was donated by Sister. Agustina, BKK.

We express our gratitude to friends who help us in preparing the healthy dishes for Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children. We thank Sister M. Feliciana, OSF and Sister Agustina, BKK for their support and attention to us.

We thank for your generous cooperation and wish for your continuous support. 

We also expressed our gratitude to facilitators and the community of Cakung and Sarang Tupai who took their time and effort in preparing the healthy dish throughout the month of  April 2017.

May 2017 Plan :

1.                Learning Activity

a.   Due to several days of holidays, the Sarang Tupai’s facility will be closed on Thursday, in the 2^nd and 4^th week of May. The state will be observed religious holidays for Christians as well as Buddhists.

b.   The 1^st quarter review for Cakung’s children will be conducted in the 1^st week of May 2017. 

2.                Library

a.   We need to register some books and prepare some proposed reading materials for the children.

  

3.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling school needs for recipients.

At the end, we express many thanks to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials for this month. Your generosity brought tremendous impact to the program.  

We are deeply touched by many of our donors’ generosity. They prioritized others than themselves.  We truly appreciate your trust in our efforts.

Closed to the middle of the year, we are still short on fulfilling our 2017’s operational budget, therefore we humbly ask for your kindness and continuous supports.

May the Lord grant you with good health and financial abundant. You are blessing to others.

We thank the Ursulin Sisterhood in Juanda Street for their routine recycle coffee bags donations. These coffee bags are essential material for crafting program. We thank Sister Agustina BKK for donations of clothing, bags, instant noodle and instant porridge. We thank Mrs. Erta and friends for donations of recycle coffee bags, children clothing and baby needs. We also thank our undisclosed donor for donations of clothing, bags, shoes and ceramic dinning set.
