Progress Report of Children Learning Community in April 2018

Dear friends,

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community activities throughout April 2018. In both Cakung and Sarang Tupai, Ciawi, the activities ran as usual.

Mrs. Lanny, Mrs. Ruth, Mrs. Tjandra, Tiwi, and big sister Debby taught the children in Sarang Tupai. Mrs. Mar’ah, big brother Amad, big brother Benny, and big sister Debby taught Cakung’s children.

We thank facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.

Throughout the month, the Sarang Tupai’s community were actively making goods out of recycle coffee packs and knitting. Meanwhile the Cakung’s community were making goods out of string beads. 
 

Even though it was a public holiday, on Friday, the 13^th of April 2018, Cakung’s children still had their activities. Children learned to make bracelets out of string beads and form their names by putting in the alphabets beads.

At the end of April, on the 25^th of April 2018, we commemorated the fifth anniversary of big sister Sarah’s passing. Sarang Tupai’s children gathered and prayed. And the Cakung’s children gathered after learning session.

We remembered big sister Sarah who visited the Cakung’s children back in 2009. During that time, children learned in the shed located in the middle of vegetable farm. At this place the children met the late big sister Sarah who passed on the 25^th of April 2013. 

We remembered our happy time with her. We prayed for forgiveness and eternal peace in the house of God. We also prayed for her parents. May the memory of their daughter lifted up their spirit to serve many children.  

We thank the donor for lunch and goodie bags of milk, snack and stationery. 

We wish for continuous relation in providing children’s need.    

In the month of April, under the scholarship program, we provided the recipients with their school fees, material photocopies, school supplies, living supplies for the students who live in boarding orphanage school, their monthly school fees, monthly activity fees and routine transportation expense.  

A few recipients who will graduate from Elementary level will further their education to Middle School.

Some parents have already proposed for their children’s scholarship assistance in Middle School and also Vocational High School level. 

We hope for positives feedback from our loyal donors.

We thank for loyal donor who relentlessly providing us with scholarship assistance. Your support is valuable for these children’s future.

Throughout April 2018, we prepared various healthy meals for Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children. We prepared cookies, Manado’s style vegetable porridge, oranges, egg seafood fried rice noodle, bananas, soybean cakes, fried yam, avocado syrup crushed ice, chicken noodle and rice cake vegetable with boiled eggs.

We thank Mrs. Tjandra for preparing meals for Sarang Tupai’s children. We also thank the facilitators and the community of Cakung and Sarang Tupai fro preparing healthy meals for Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children throughout April 2018.

Kartini cooperative effort ran well. Community also spare their time to purchase their grocery at the cooperative after learning session.

We thank our dedicated and loyal friends who support this program.

We wish for longevity of this program.

May 2018 Plan:

1.                Learning Activity

a.   Review session for children’s learning and skills. Cakung’s and Sarang Tupai’s children will have their review on the first week of May 2018.  

b.   For annual outdoor activity, we plan to visit planetarium and Ragunan Zoo on May 12, 2018.

2.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling recipients school needs and registration fees for Middle and Vocational High School.

3.                Staple Needs Cooperative Effort

Purchase out of stock items.

We are grateful to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials for this month.

We are deeply touched by many of our donors’ generosity who put others before themselves. We truly appreciate your trust in our effort.

We thank the donors for recycled coffee packs donations and for the healthy food donation to Sarang Tupai’s children.
