Children Learning Community June 2020 Report

Dear friends,

 

In the midst of Corona pandemic, we wish you a joyous spirit and a healthy life.

 

With your prayer and support, distance learning ran smoothly throughout June 2020.

 

After collective thought with all Cakung’s facilitators and with respect to COVID’s protocol, we decided to organize distance learning. We strategically started with Cakung’s children first.

 

Children do their learning activity on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile the facilitators prepare the lesson and evaluation on Monday.

 

Since the children live apart from each other, the facilitators organize lesson distribution in four places.

 

Two young and healthy facilitators go to this designated four places.

 

With masker on, hand sanitizers, and disinfectant spray, Yohana and Tia went to three places in Cakung’s area and one in Rorotan. Each visit only lasted for 15 to 20 minutes. They explained the learning materials and practices. And after that, children can do the learning from their own home.    

 

We thank facilitators for their helps.

 

 

In the beginning of June, we distributed food donations which came at the end of May. Donation came from Sr. Maria, BKK and Sr. Agustina, BKK of LDD organization.

 

Donations were distributed to Muara Tawar’s and Cakung’s community and also to farmers in Bogor, North Bekasi.

 

On Friday, 19^th of June 2020, Sr. Agustina, BKK sent us more food donations.

 

The community and children thank Sister Maria, BKK of the LDD organization and also Sister Agustina, BKK for their support and donation. They hope for continues relationship with them.

Ciawi’s community are selling filled tofu; autee beansprout and tofu ketoprak; vegetable salad karedok; fruit salad rujak, and lasagna as part of their entrepreneur effort. .

 

 

Children were having online tests and year end academic exams. Until today, children are not allowed physically attend school. 

  

We were grateful to fulfil children’s needs through scholarship program this month.

 

Some recipients received monthly school fees. The transportation allowances is still be given. Since the on line schooling need internet data, the allowance was directed for purchasing internet data.

 

The children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

 

With your support, children will have hope for better future.

  

 

We ask many of our loyal friends to join us in caring for children and communities.

  

Your kindness and supports have strengthened us to carry on this duty and service.

 

July 2020 Plan :

 

1. There will be no gathering and learning in facilities until further notice from The Indonesian Government. 

a.   Cakung’s facilitators and community members will regularly clean and sanitized the facility.

b.   Cakung’s facilitators review children’s learning activity every Monday. 

c.   Cakung’s and Rorotan’s children learning schedule are on Tuesday and Wednesday.

3. Basic Needs Cooperative Effort

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s Cooperative run regularly for member to shop. The cooperative officers watch the inventory and purchase out of stock items.

 

 

We are grateful to our friends for their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

 

You have boosted our moral in bringing up the underprivileged community. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part in the nation’s effort for social justice.   

  

Financial contributions and support are still needed for this year’s budget. 

 

Even the smallest helps, will be beneficial for development of the children, the future generations.

 

We thank dedicated donors for their financial support. They are valuable for day to day operation of Children Learning Community.
