Keep The Spirit High; Learn Diligently; Children Learning Community July 2020 Report

 

Dear friends,

  

                We wish Eid al-Adha holy day to the Moeslems

 

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community’s activity throughout July 2020.

 

 

We thank facilitators who assist the children in all activities.

 

In the begining of July, Cakung’s children and community received food donation from Sr. Korina OSU.

 

A few days later, we also received powder milk, writing tablet and stationery from LDD Charity Organization through Sr. Maria, BKK. 

 

 

Sr Maria, BKK and her team also visited Cakung’s Learning Centre and met with the children at one of the learning point. Children received their gifts and took photos with guests. 

 

 

Praise to the Lord for the opportunity to meet Sr. Korina, OSU and Sr. Maria, BKK. We wish to keep in touch with them and continue assisting the children.

 

May God keeps the sisters safe and healthy.

 

Cakung’s children activities were still conducted at four locations. They were assisted by three young and healthy facilitators.

 

They met twice a week on Tuesday and Wednesday.  For a  period of 15 to 20 minute, facilitators distributed learning materials and gave tasks for the children to work at home.  

 

Facilitators came in with surgical masks, bottles of hand sanitizers and disinfectant spray. They sprayed the area before the children came. Children and facilitators were required to use surgical masks. The facilitators even brought some spare disposable surgical masks for the children.

At school, the academic year started in the middle of July. Children learned through the internet. With pandemic restriction, schools’ office is opened for service.

 

The scholarship’s recipients were grateful to receive financial assistance despite pandemic economical challenge.

 

Since there were no extracurricular school’s activity, some schools cut their extracurricular activity fee. 

 

We still gave transportation allowance to the children. Only these days, the allowance were directed for internet fee.  The allowance were very helpful for the children to do their learning, homework and other school tasks.

 

Many donors have helped the children staying in school.

Children thank loyal donors for providing scholarship assistance in this academic year.

 

With your support, children have a better hope for their future.

 

 

We reminded many of our loyal friends to keep sharing and carrying for these children and communities.

 

Your generous kindness and supports also boosted our morale and spirit.

 

August 2020 Plan:

 

1. There will be no gathering and learning in facilities until further notice from The Indonesian Government.

a.   Cakung’s facilitators and community members will regularly clean and sanitized the facility.

b.   Cakung’s facilitators review children’s learning activity every Monday. 

c.   Cakung’s and Rorotan’s children learning schedule are on Tuesday and Wednesday.

3. Basic Needs Cooperative Effort

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s Cooperative run regularly for member to shop. The cooperative officers watch the inventory and purchase out of stock items.

 

We are grateful to our friends for their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

 

You have boosted our spirit in bringing up the underprivileged community. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part in the nation’s effort for social justice.   Financial contributions and supports are still needed for this year’s budget. 

 

Despite hardship of pandemic, many of loyal donors are still dedicating their resources for the children.

 

The children were very grateful for that. It was helpful for day to day operation and Children Learning’s activities.

  

Even the smallest help will be carried on further for development of the children, the future generations.

 

 

We thank dedicated donors for their faith and trust.
