Dear friends,

 

In the midst of Corona pandemic, we wish all our friends to be in high spirit and healthy.

 

We are also grateful for your pray and support. With the government imposed on“PSBB”, the Corona lock down, the children learning community operated in a distance at  each of our children’s home.

 

 

Throughout May 2020, we guide the children in their study at their own home.

 

On Wednesday at 6^th of May 2020, the ministry of woman empowerment and child protection invited us for virtual seminar. The seminar is about “Increasing children immunity with balance nutrition to protect them against COVID 19”. Two Cakung’s children and a facilitator attended this  live seminar through zoom application in one of Cakung children’s home.   

     

The three hours seminar started at 1 pm and lasted at 4 pm. From the material given, we made a short workshop for the children to study and make written report. As home project, children also enjoyed attending their plants, writing diary with pictures. A week after that, we asked the children to watch a short motivational movie which we hope to bring up the children’s spirit.

 

The community and children were very grateful to many friends for their helps throughout the month of May. On Saturday at the 2^nd of May 2020, Ms Ko and family donated staple food, masks and cash for the community’s Moeslem holiday preparation. We distributed the donations to Cakung’s, Rorotan’s and North Bekasi’s community.

 

 

The community and children were very grateful to Ms. Ko and family for their kind heart. They hope to develop continuous relationship with the family.

 

We also organize the distribution of staple food to Ciawi’s community. The activity started on Saturday, at the 2^nd of May 2020 and ended Sunday, the next day.

 

 

During lockdown the access road to and from Jakarta were closed. We were not able to visit and bring any donation goods. Our way to reach the children were by money transfer. So then, the facilitators in that place can purchase staple food for the children and community.

 

On the 8th of May 2020, the communities received staple food from 'Koperasi Benih Baik' and 'sanggar akar'. We distributed to three communities, especially for the communities who have difficulties due to covid 19 pandemic. They are scavengers, farmers, and factory workers.

 

We thank “Sanggar Akar” and “Koperasi Benih Baik” for their donations and helps.

 

On the 20^th of May 2020, the children received holiday brownies from Mrs. Linda. We cut the cakes and share them to the children in Cakung’s neighbourhood.

 

Children were grateful to Mrs. Linda for delicious brownies. They hope to keep in touch with her and continue share their joy with her.

 

On Saturday, the 30^th of May 2020, we received staple food, vitamin and biscuit from Sister Agustina, BKK and Sister Maria, BKK of “ Lembaga Daya Darma”, LDD Cathedral.

 

 

We distributed the goods in the beginning of June 2020. The community and children thank Sister Agustina, BKK and Sister Maria, BKK. We hope to continue working with them.

School is still open for on line learning. Children were taking their tests and semester exams virtually.

 

We were grateful to fulfil children’s needs through scholarship program this month.

 

Some recipients received monthly school fees. The transportation allowances still be given to some students. They used it to purchase internet package for their school’s on line lessons.

  

The children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

 

With your support, children will have hope for better future.

 

 

We ask many of our loyal friends to share our responsibility for the welfare of the children and communities.

 

Your kindness and supports have strengthened us to carry on this duty and service.

 

 

June 2020 Activity Plan :

 

1. There will be no gathering and learning in facilities until further notice from The Indonesian Government. 

a.    Cakung’s facilitators and community members will regularly clean and sanitized the facility.

b.    All three community’s children still be able to learn from home, Facilitators will distribute their learning tasks on line. 

c.    Continue distributing food, cleaning tools, cleaning agents, vitamins and face masks.

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s Cooperative run regularly for member to shop. The cooperative officers watch the inventory and purchase out of stock items.

We are grateful to our friends for their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

 

You have boosted our moral in bringing up the underprivileged community. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part with nation’s effort for social justice.   

 

 

Financial contributions and continuous support were still needed in 2020.

 

Even the smallest helps, will be beneficial to the children, the nation’s future generations.

 

We thank dedicated donors for their financial supports. They are valuable for Children Learning Community’s day to day operation.
