Dear friends,

 

 

 

Welcome 2021

 

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community’s activity throughout January 2021.

 

We thank facilitators who assist the children in all activities.

 

We also thank all parents for their trust. During pandemic, all activities were run with great cautious.

 

 

2020 is the year of challenges for the operation of Children Learning Community. Children need to get their education support. Therefore, schedule has been altered as well as ways to reach those children.

 

 

Due to lack of personnel resources, since mid of March 2020, we suspended any activity in Muara Tawar. Muara Tawar also laid in the outside of Jakarta province, in a separate provincial government. They have different rule to combat virus pandemic. Thus, it created confusion among facilitators and students. At the end, we decided to postpone any activity in this area until further notice from local and provincial government. 

 

Number of active students in Cakung and surrounding area is increase significantly. Our approach is to share duty among facilitators and to minimize meeting time. We made four meeting points around Cakung, Rorotan and Malaka. We serve up to 80 students in these area.

 

 

Ciawi’s activity was also halted for three months. Ciawi’s facilitators reviewed learning schedule and decided to meet their pupils in two meeting points. There are 30 active learning children in this area.

 

 

Cakung centre is still in operation. Even though, learning takes place outside but the facility is still used for office and place to distribute donation for the children in the community. 

 

Learning activity ran well to serve the increasing number of pupils. In the midst of pandemic, we are surely grateful for the children’s wellbeing and mental development. 

 

 

Despite hardships and financial challenges, we are grateful to all our dedicated donors. God has blessed us with you to take care of these children.

 

 

We received plenty nonfinancial materials in 2020. Children and community were very grateful for these blessings. 

 

 

Since 2012, Kartini cooperative were run. Year after year, they faced challenges. There were years without any activity. But at 2020, they made it with IDR 2.348.700 in profit.

 

 

In 2020, there were increased in transportation expenses. Facilitators needed to go to many places such as meeting points to reach the children, places for lesson review and donor’s places to pick up nonfinancial donation. 

 

 

Challenges and changes became our second nature. We adopt to meet the need to serve the children.

 

 

We still open for donation of tarp cover, white board and clipboard. The children need these movable items for their comfort outdoor studying.

 

 

In January 2021, we received a very sad news. Our dearest donor, the late Mr Robert has passed. His care and dedication to the children will be missed by all of us, here at Children Learning Community.

 

 

Our deepest condolences to the family. We pray for eternal peace in the house of merciful Father.

Children were grateful to donors who provided them with scholarship assistance.

 

School expenses  were done by bank transfer. Due to the need of internet, the usual transportation and snack allowance were directed to internet fee for various virtual school activities.

 

Children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

Cakung’s and Ciawi’s cooperative open for business as usual. Cooperative officers keep track of sales, inventory and purchase out of stock items.

 

We are grateful to our friends for their prayers, finances, efforts and materials’ support throughout this month.

 

You have boosted our spirit in bringing up the underprivileged community. You have given these children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. Together, we have taken part in the nation’s effort for social justice.   Financial contributions and supports are needed to achieve this year’s budget.

 

Despite pandemic’s hardship, many of loyal donors are willing to dedicate their resources to the children.

 

The children are grateful for routine donations from dedicated donors. They are valuable for day to day operation. Attach is 2021 Children Learning Community Budget.

 

Even the smallest help will be beneficial for the education of this coming generation.

 

In advance, children thank all donors for fulfilling their needs in 2021.

 

The children and community thanked Sr. Maria, OSU; Sr. Annunciata, OSU and the community of Ursulin sisterhood Juanda for their donations of biscuit and syrup. They were perfect for children to enjoy during Christmas and New Year celebration. Children received clothing from an anonymous donor. They also received text books and magazines from Mr. David.  They also grateful to Sr. Agustina, BKK for donation of clothing, bath soap and eco enzyme, liquid organic cleaner. Every single child really thanked Mr.Madi and LDD for donations of brand new sneakers for all the children. At the end, we thanked Mrs. Risa Anwar who gave the children many boxes of surgical masks.
