Eid-Al-Fitr with Friends Jemima’s story
On Sunday, 20 September 2009, my friends and I celebrated Eid-Al-Fitr. We - Yulia, Indri, Ester, Kartini and I - along with Kak Deby, Kak Lucy, Kak Welly and Kak Vera celebrated the event by visiting our neighbour houses.
Firstly, we went to Susi and Anton’s house, but apparently they have gone back to their home town. After that we went to Mayang’s house, but they were sleeping when we arrived there. However, not long after that, Desi woke up and then with her mother, they greet us to come in to their house.
From Mayang’s house, we then went to Kartini’s house. She and her family warmly greet us and serve us with lots of food. Next, we went to Tia’s house to visit Tia, Kiki and her mother. Tia’s mother gave us Eid-Al-Fitr cookies which are Rengginang. The cookies were so good and we ate them all in one go.
From Tia’s house, we continued our journey by going to Ari’s house to visit Ari, Satria and their mother. We met our friends, Yuliayana, Jaka, Eneng and Adit, there as well. They were just back from visiting their relatives.
In Yana’s house, we ate a lot of foods like pudding and ketupat which were made by Yana’s mother. There were so many foods there and they were all so good. We couldn’t say enough and we ate so many of them.
From Yana’s house, we went to visit Intan, Chyntia, Umi, Lina-Lini, their grandma and everyone in their family. We were then again served with a lot of foods like fruit cocktail and pudding. Some of us already full but we couldn’t say no and still ate the foods.
Lastly, we went to see Mala and her family. We were served vegetable curry with ketupat and fried fish by Mala’s mother.
At the end of day, about 4.10pm, we went back to our home with happy face and tummy.
