Let's Develop Creative Skills, Progress Report of Children Learning Community in September 2019

Dear friends,

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community throughout September 2019. Children Learning Community activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai, Ciawi and Muara Tawar ran smoothly.

This month, Cakung’s children enjoyed drawing. Sarang Tupai’s children chose to made earing and bracelet out of beads.

We also thanked facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.

Below are pictures of various activities in Cakung, Sarang Tupai and Muara Tawar. We also showed a video of Cakung’s children’s singing activity to commemorate the passing of Indonesia’s third president, the late BJ Habibie.

The Muara Tawar’s community faced challenging conditions. There were busy road construction in the area. Community have to face the traffic of heavy duty trucks coming and going. Several houses nearby fishing ponds need to be relocated due to road constructions.

Construction also run through the creek near learning facility. We hope that learning facility will not be bothered due to this road construction.

Bigger than that, we hope that the local government will not relocate the facility. The facility is quiet accessible for the children.

We were grateful to fulfil children’s needs through scholarship program.

This month, the scholarship’s recipients received monthly school fees, school’s supplies and transportation allowance for a few needy children.

The children thank loyal donors for providing them with scholarship assistance.

With your support, children gain hope for better future.

During this dry season, we served the children with fruits available such as oranges, watermelon, snake fruit and pineapple. We also provided food such as rice noddle dumpling soup, French fries, fried flour starch and biscuits. Children also enjoyed biscuits provided by donors.

Children thank Sr. Annunciata, OSU for delicious biscuits.

Children thanked facilitators and communities in all three locations for preparing heathy meal in September.

We ask many of our loyal friends to join us in caring for the children and community.

Your kind attentions and supports have strengthened us to carry on this duty and service to the children.

October 2019 Plan:

1.                Learning Activity

a.   Cakung’s, Ciawi’s, and Muara Tawar’s children will learn according to their routine schedule.

b.   Cakung’s teenagers and mothers will be having their handcraft session.

c.   Children will expect Mr. Patrick and his family visiting them on Saturday, October 19^th 2019.

d.   On Saturday, the 20^th October 2019, Cakung’s teenagers will be competed in poster drawing competition with theme ‘Journey to Peace’.

e.   Children also will be having outdoor activity visiting Science Museum, IPTEK TMII on Saturday, 26^th October 2019.

2.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling school needs for recipients in Elementary, Middle and High School level.

3.                Staple Needs Cooperative Effort

Purchase Cakung’s and Ciawis’s out of stock products

4.                Renewal rental agreement of Cakung’s Learning Home which will be due in the beginning of November 2019.

We are grateful to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials throughout this month.

You have boosted our moral in bringing up poor community. We give children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. In doing so, we participate in nation’s effort for social justice.
