Progress Report of Children Learning Community in June 2019

Dear friends,

We wish our Moeslem friends a Happy Ied Al Fitr 1440 Hijriah.

Kindly ask you to forgive our false thoughts and actions in the past.

We were grateful to God and to our loyal friends who supported the children learning community throughout June 2019. Children Learning Community activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai, Ciawi and Muara Tawar ran smoothly.

                                                                       

In the first and second week of June 2019, the children were enjoying their holiday.

The children and parents of three communities prepared themselves for Ied Al Fitr.

On Ied Al Fitr celebration, a few children and facilitators were doing house visit in the Cakung’s neighborhood.

     

On Friday at the 7^th of June 2019, Cakung’s children and facilitators traveled to Muara Tawar to visit “Pak RW”, the community leader and the children at the learning center’s neighborhood. 

Children greeted each other on the street as we continued our journey to Muara Tawar facilitators’ home.

In the 2^nd week of June 2019, we began learning at Sarang Tupai’s facility.

At the end of learning session, children and parents greeted each other and gathered for feast in celebration of Ied Al Fatr.

Children and community were very grateful. They were thankful that they were able to survive and gather this year.

Learning activity at these three facility were officially began at the 3^rd week of June 2019. 

We thank facilitators, volunteers and surrounding community who relentlessly gave their time, efforts, finances and place for this learning program.

On Tuesday, at the 18^th of June 2019, we were invited by Mc Donalds Pekayon, West Bekasi to take some books. The books were donated by the Mc Donalds Pekayon and their customers.

We thank brother Alfin Najib, “Komunitas Buku Berkaki” and Mc Donalds.

We hope to further our works together.

This month’s menus include watermelon and biscuit. The biscuits were from last month gifts. We also thank Sr. Annunciata, OSU and Sr. Erna, OSU for three staple foods packages.   

We distributed biscuit after learning activity. 

Once again, we thank Sr. Annunciata, OSU, Sr. Erna, OSU and the Ursulin sisterhood for their compassion.   

We hope for further working relationship.

We also thanked facilitators and Sarang Tupai’s community who brought the idea of gathering together with the children.

At the end of this month, Elementary, Junior High, Senior High and Vocational High School students received good news for going to the next grade. 

We are proud of Sarang Tupai’s children achievement.

There are three high achievers Elementary students. They are Jagad who are second in his class room; Syamsudin comes on third and Holil comes in second.   

They are our best students. Diligently, they always show up every Wednesday afternoon at Ciawi’s learning center terrace.

All Elementary, Middle School, High School and Vocational High School’s children completed their grade. Some of them graduated from Junior and Vocational High School. Some of them took a conscious decision to help their parents by going to work. 

In the middle of July, children are going to be in school. Parents are getting ready preparing their children with school uniform, text books and school supplies.

We thank the loyal donor who relentlessly providing us with scholarship assistance. Your support is valuable for these children’s future.

We ask many of our loyal friends to join us in caring for the children and community.

To fulfill the 2019’s budget gap, we sell products in community bazaar. The bazaar committee asked us to participate in their bazaar in a college. The crafts made by mothers and young girls, also the children learning community snacks’ coach sold that day.   

We thank Mrs. Nani and bazaar committee for giving us place to sell products and snacks. We were able to raise the profit 281.000 IDR in June 2019’s sales.

Your kind attentions and various types of supports have strengthened us to carry on this duties and services to the children.

July 2019 Plan :

1.                Learning Activity

a.   Regular learning and skill activities at Cakung, Sarang Tupai and Muara Tawar.

b.   Develop Muara Tawar’s additional outdoor gazebo across the river to facilitate the grown number of enthusiastic children.  

2.                Scholarship

a.   Fulfilling school needs for recipients in Elementary, Middle and Vocational High School level before the starting of 2019-2020’s academic year on Monday, July 15, 2019.

3.                Staple Needs Cooperative Effort

Purchase out stocks items as per end of June 2019.

We are grateful to our friends for their support in prayers, finances, efforts and materials throughout this month.

With you, we take part in effort to bring up poor community. We give children the opportunity to be smart, independent and prosper in their own community. In doing so, we participate in nation’s effort for social justice.

Your generosity helps many nations’ young generation. Your routine financial contribution helps the operation of learning centers.
